It’s been a long time coming but we’ve finally found an amazing Burundi coffee that represents the best the small nation has to offer!
Burundi is a little-known coffee producing gem in the heart of East Africa and is slowly making a name for itself in the specialty coffee world. While the nation has had more than it’s fair share of problems, the coffee remains a strong earner for the economy. Yandaro washing station is situated in the Kayanza region (widely regarded as the best region for coffee in Burundi) and is the main processing facility for 441 farms in the area. This microlot was selected because it was an exceptional example of the country’s potential; in the cup you can expect preserved peaches, cranberry and blackberry notes and a soft lemon acidity.
