The best places to get your Dimattina fix right now (WA)

The Covid-19 Coronavirus has had an unprecedented impact on the way we live our lives.  Physical distancing and isolation restrictions have sadly meant that many cafes and hospitality businesses across Australia have had to close their doors, perhaps permanently.  For those that are still operating (in a takeaway only capacity) business has been slow, but many have received a great deal of support from their regular customers and community.  These small businesses are an essential part of our society; cafes have long since served as a ‘third space’, meaning a comfortable place that is not home, not work but a retreat from both.  In the current climate this third space becomes even more important now that many of us don’t even have a second space anymore!  To help reunite people with their favourite coffee, or perhaps introduce them to a new one, we have compiled a list of cafes serving Dimattina coffee that you can still visit (and not stray from current restrictions).

Brighton Road Food Market

The team at Brighton Road Food Market in Scarborough have recently revamped their café section with an expanded cabinet selection and brand-new coffee machine; long story short, it looks awesome!  These guys have been slinging our Prima Tazza blend for years along with tasty cabinet treats and take-home meals.  But the best part, they are part of a specialty supermarket.  You can pick up a tasty brew and pay for it with your groceries, no detouring from isolation regulations!

Angelo Street Market

Angelo Street Markets has been servicing the Como area for decades now (formerly Scutti’s) and has recently expanded their coffee offering with a new takeaway window.  You can grab a coffee inside while you do your grocery shopping or simply swing by the window on your morning walk, it really couldn’t be more convenient.  Don’t forget to pick up some of their artisan produce for those extra special isolation dinners!

Coffea Fine Espresso

Coffea Fine Espresso and its sister store Coffea Kiosk are two of the only cafés currently operating in Garden City Shopping Centre.  Both have a great selection of takeaway food (including some amazing poké bowls!) and you don’t need to stray far from your grocery route to take advantage of it.  The staff are always friendly and keen for a chat, hit them up if you’re around Garden City on your shopping run.

A local establishment in the Carine Glades Shopping Centre, Marmalade has always had a large, loyal following.  Despite the current downturn, Marmalade are keeping their takeaway game strong and are still pumping out hundreds of coffees a day!  If you’re picking up a few essentials from the local IGA (it’s right next door) then make sure you grab a coffee on your way through and see Aldo and the team.

Livid Skate

Whether you’re going for a morning jog along Scarborough Beach or stopping by the adjacent Coles for your weekly groceries, Livid Skate is the place to be!  Oska and the crew are committed to keeping the Scarborough community fueled with quality coffee and good vibes.  Make sure you check out their amazing range of skate decks while you’re there; it’s always a good time at Livid.

Zamia Café

While you can no longer dine at a table inside Zamia’s beautiful airy space, you still have the entirety of King’s Park at your disposal.  Zamia is very much open and still bringing you delicious coffee, cakes and takeaway meals to be enjoyed while you’re out getting your fresh air.  So you can’t sit inside at a table anymore?  No big deal when you have a huge open space to lay down your picnic blanket and soak up some vitamin D (just remember to keep up your physical distancing).

There are so many cafes that are doing it tough right now, far too many to feature here.  We will be promoting more every day on Instagram so give us a follow @dimattinacoffee for more cafes operating near you.
